Winter has always felt like a truth-teller to me. A season that speaks softly between breaths, in the long shadowed mornings by candlelight, in the bone-deep knowing that everything — every leaf, every dream, every cell — must return to the silence and the darkness of the roots before it can rise again.
This year the teachings arrived in new whispers. Did you see the brightness of that Super Full Moon this week pouring light into all the hidden chambers, bringing healing of starlike old soul contracts, releasing imprints, allowing the New?! Yesterday I went to walk by the trees, now naked of leaves, revealing the inner structure, and the first frost shimmering under a bright winter sun, while the bamboo, evergreen and flexible remained strong, with its rhizomatic roots growing under, unseen. And a camellia with its sweet aroma bright pink flowers... what a contrast, a beauty, and me so lucky to see it all, the change, the way each plant blooms or returns to the root. All at once. I picked two flowers that had fallen on the ground, like two stars fallen to Earth, and put them in my altar later.
In the morning, I pulled some cards (from Rebecca Campbell's deck), tuning into the energies of the month, the winter, what it wants for me, this transition that feels somehow fast paced, and I got a revealing trio
- Starseed. Transformation. Birthing a New Age -
it landed not only as personal reflection, but as a whisper to the collective:
We are returning to the dark to remember our light.
How does that feel for you?
We are gestating a new world in the cool, fertile quiet of midwinter. Have you ever planted a seed of a tree? You need to plant it in the winter time. It needs cold and darkness.
What do you want to birth?
A Year of Becoming
As I look back on the year that has unfolded, I am struck by the sheer magnitude of inner and outer growth. Two books emerging from my hands and heart. Deep initiations: the Shamanic Energy Healing course, the Multidimensional Healing training. The steady flame of my healing work. And the menopause alchemy, rewiring me from the inside out — bone, brain, heart, and soul learning to speak a new language, with wisdom going deeper and intuitive universes opening up.
It has been a year of remembering who I am, who I’ve been, and who I am becoming, a year of remembrance and deep healing. A Yin year, the year of the Snake, a time of shedding the old, to end the old, to allow inner transformation, and then, next year from February, a very different energy will come. The year of the Horse. A Yang, fast energy, a gallop. Now it is not a time to push, it's a time to rest and prepare.
And here we stand, approaching the 12:12 portal, the Winter Solstice, the gentle hum of new cosmic consciousness and the 3 I Atlas energies, all moving us toward a deeper alignment with our expansive roots.
Are you ready to simply allow your becoming?
Winter Retreat
Winter has been my season of retreat.
11 years ago I joined a group of 120 people for a meditation Retreat over Christmas time. That felt powerful, the shared silence, the chantings, the nature around us, the peace growing each day. It was a deeply transformative experience and a turning point. In the past five years I always did a Solo Meditation Retreat in winter, usually in December - a time of going inward, listening, softening, being present into the sacred quiet, deepening my meditation practice - which in fact started in yoga classes in 1989, when I was only 16 years old.
From groups with teachings to solo meditation is a big difference, and I love it. Although note that I do not recommend this solo deep work for meditation beginners. One step at the time. Meditation is a journey. A long road.
This year, something different is calling however. For the first time in five winters, I feel like sharing, not the entire retreat, as I do need this time and space after a demanding year, and my work with clients. But perhaps a small opening, a warm ember to be offered to others from within my experience, trusting the winter to do the quiet magic.
I am considering hosting a mini-retreat - 3 short healing events - over my Winter Retreat,
a gentle invitation into our shared Root Season — a space to clear the old year, harmonise the nervous system, and seed the intentions that will bloom in the spring. A sanctuary of sound healing, Reiki, tuning forks, breath, and soul-centred rest. A space to sit in silence, to dream, to transform.
This will be online.
Something simple and quiet.
Just a soft doorway into deep connection, together.
Winter reminds us that the New begins quietly in the soil.
In our bones. In our hearts. In the soft places where no one is watching.
This season, may we lean into the dark with curiosity. May we honour the seeds forming in the unseen. May we trust that transformation often looks like stillness. And may we feel the ancient truth.
We are becoming, even when we appear to be quiet.
If this mini-retreat calls to you, please show your interest with a short email so I can write back and let you know the details - otherwise I will share more soon on Instagram.
With love, warmth, and winter wonder,
Claudia
